Blue Bird Morning
My husband and I have worked and traveled all over the country. This painting was a combination of bluebirds from Montana and an old fence I saw at the desert botanical gardens in Phoenix. I like to put birds on interesting old wood. I like to see the roughness of the wood and the softness of the birds. Oh! And flowers of course!
I love painting in watercolors. I love the way the colors glow through each layer and fill with light, like stained glass.
All my watercolor paintings are painted on Arches 300# cold-pressed, bright white watercolor paper. Arches paper is archival and acid-free. I use M. Graham and Winsor and Newton's professional watercolor paints. My colors are permanent and archival and will not fade or change color! I will never paint with fugitive colors no matter how beautiful or vibrant they are. It is important to me that my paintings will last a lifetime and beyond with the proper care and attention.
